#3 in Best Padel Rackets for Control 2026#4 in Best Padel Rackets 2026
In shortPlayers describe a control racket with a large, forgiving sweet spot and little trampoline effect, liked for its dry touch and manoeuvrability. Downsides are units heavier than listed, firmness that gave some elbow or arm pain, and smashes needing more effort. Some remove the stock grip to cut weight.

It's very much like the vertex hybrid 2025, very easy to play with, sweet spot is all over the racket so very hard to miss hit, power is 4/10 so not amazing for attacking style player for its one of the best all rounder rackets. I would say level is good for beginners + up to advance, mostly for right side players.
Their new Vertex 05 Hybrid 2026 weighed 384 g out of the box (tag said 370 g) and 388 g with an overgrip. On the first test, smashes were more powerful and it was much more forgiving than their Head Extreme Motion, but it was tiring and viboras felt odd.
“It weighs 388g with the additional overgrip and smashes were more powerful because the racket is not only heavier than my Head racket, but also much more forgiving. Still, it was taxing and viboras felt especially weird.”
Bought the Vertex 05 Hybrid a couple of weeks ago: good sweet spot, a surprisingly low balance and easy handling, and still plenty of power; they like the Hesacore grip for their sensitive tendons.
“Good sweetspot, VERY nice/low handling/balance (everybody holding it is surprised by this) but still a lot of power if you hit it right.”
Confirms the Vertex 05 Hybrid has barely any trampoline effect and is solid on volleys and defensive shots, with a large sweet spot that makes it a great control racket. The trade-off is that smashes and viboras need more effort.
“the vertex hybrid 05 has barely any trampoline effect and is solid on volleys and defensive shots. The downside is that you’ll have to put more power for smashes and viboras”
Plays both sides with the Vertex 05 Hybrid and likes it so much they own two and plan a third: a big sweet spot, manoeuvrable, decent power when needed and a lot of control.
“I feel the sweet spot is big, it’s manoeuvrable, has decent power when required and high control levels.”
A 3.2 Playtomic player loves the Vertex Hybrid 2026's firm feel for precise shots and deep lobs, with plenty of spin and a huge sweet spot, but struggles to put easy high balls away or smash them out.
“Love the firm feel for precise shots and deep lobs. Can generate enough spin and sweet spot is huge.”
Uses the Vertex 05 Hybrid 2026: big sweet spot, medium balance and good manoeuvrability, with a hardness between the Counter Veron and Counter Viper.
“Im currently using the Bullpadel Vertex 05 Hybrid 26 and it sounds exactly like what you are looking for; Big sweet spot, medium balance, good maneuverability.”
Has the Vertex 05 Hybrid 2026: firmer with less trampoline than an AT10 18K and a little more power, though not as easy to move; the sweet spot feels huge.
“Almost the whole racket is sweet spot.”
Owns the Vertex Hybrid 2026 and an ST4 Pro: the Hybrid is a great all-rounder, less head-heavy, more manoeuvrable with a massive sweet spot and less rebound, still powerful.
“Vertex Hybrid 2026 is just a great all rounder, less head heavy, more manoeuvrable and massive sweet spot.”
Compared the Vertex 05 Hybrid 2026 with the Metalbone CTRL and AT10 18K 2026: very good sweet spot and the clear winner for manoeuvrability.
Lighter, more forgiving and easier to time than the ST4, but less stable and less powerful.
“The vertex feels completely different. It's lighter, more forgiving and easier to time but inferior in stability, shot blocking and power.”
